We should pay attention and take care of our digestive system during winter as much as we take care of our respiratory system with coats and scarves, or our skin. The colon is responsible of the last part of the digestion. Good chewing is crucial to have a good digestion, to achieve a valid absorption of nutrients and a punctual evacuation.

If we choose to have a controlled diet and a healthy life, the colon and the rest of our body will be grateful. As regard, we will enjoy a great health, physical and emotional. On the other hand, if we have a messy diet it will finally catch up with you and will suffer constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, etc.

We should have an elaborate diet during winter containing soups, stews, smashed vegetables; legumes, fish and we don’t need to drink so much water. We should avoid salads, fruits, sweets, white flour, dairy products, cheese, sprinkle water, excessive alcohol, orange juice, etc. All these foods and beverages provoke more fermentation in our intestines producing gas, bloating, constipation and / or diarrhoea, etc.

“According to traditional Chinese medicine, the three systems: lungs, colon and skin, are related, as they work together with energy”.

Colon – lung relation

When there are toxins in the colon constipation, diarrhoea, gas or bloating appear, causing physical discomfort. These toxins go up in gas shape directly to the lung. People that have never smoked can suffer lung diseases as pneumonia especially in winter for that reason. For instance, a smoker colon is more sensitive than a non-smoker one.

Hydro-Colon therapy can help eliminate these toxins accumulated in the colon as well as virus, bacteria or gas.

People who suffer seasonal allergies to dust, to animals fur, to mite, have symptoms like sneezing, rhinitis, red eyes, itching, congestion, etc. which also belong to the lung and appear in spring / autumn. They will easily disappear changing the lifestyle and taking care of the colon.

There exist some clinic cases in which after a Hydro-Colon therapy session symptoms get better or even disappear. These seasonal symptoms can then be avoided taking care and cleaning the colon in winter.

Colon – skin – lung Relation

The skin of someone who suffers regular constipation would normally be too dry, even damaged. Skin problems like eczema may indicate that the colon and the lung are not working in harmony.

In winter we nourish and moisturize our skin externally with creams, oils, etc. And internally with the diet (more vegetables) and Hydro-Colon therapy can also be added, as it doesn’t only works as healing but also preventative.

Tips to add to our routine during winter:

Self massage with hot raw sesame oil over the stomach to ease evacuation.

– Learn to practice breathing techniques, through exercise or meditation to fight stress, anxiety and depression.

Physical exercise helps circulation, mood and immunity.

Probiotics help regenerate the intestinal flora and improve constipation, diarrhoea, and bloating.

– Following a regular routine: going to the loo, going to sleep, exercise, diet and rest.

– And remember, if you normally feel/suffer bloating, intestinal gas, constipation or diarrhoea, ask a specialist for Hydro-Colon therapy.
