Foods that help improve blood circulation

If you are one of those who always has cold hands and foot, usually suffers dizziness or leg swelling, probably you have bad blood circulation. In most cases these problems are related to a sedentary lifestyle or bad eating habits as diets with a lack of nutrients and fiber and low water consumption, but also to hereditary and genetic factors.

There are many foods that help improve blood circulation and therefore reduce these symptoms. The list we present today is completed by indispensable food in your diet to improve blood circulation. 

 

  • Cereals

Whole grains are the base of the macrobiotic diet. Oats, wheat, barley, bulgur or millet are some examples of whole grains that will help you eliminate toxins, so your blood will run easily (as well as prevent constipation). You can include them in your breakfast as they will give you the necessary energy to start the day.

 

  • Ginger

Ginger is one of the most beneficial foods for the health. It contains many properties recognized since antiquity. It’s a powerful natural analgesic that reduces pain and swelling while it contributes to stimulate blood circulation. It consumption improves nutrients and oxygen absorption  as well as producing greater veins and joints flexibility.

 

  • Walnuts

Walnuts are a great source of B3 vitamin, also called thiamine, that help blood circulation. It also contains omega 3 that reinforce the blood vessels capacity in front of stimuli. You can add them to your salads or as a snack or in sauces. Nevertheless it’s advisable to moderate its consumption due to high calorie levels.

 

  • Pumpkin seeds

Sometimes it’s difficult to believe in the huge benefits that these small seeds can provide to our health, altough in reality they provide many vitamins and minerals. They are high in vitamin E so they are perfect to protect tissues of the body and provide elasticity to vains and joints. Furthermore they prevent blood clot and they favors legs’ blood circulation.

 

  • Garlic

Garlic is an indispensable ingredient in the cuisine of many countries, although it was not until some years ago that its high nutritional value has been recognized. It helps clean blood and avoid the accumulation of blood in veins.  It is a powerful natural antibiotic so if you consume one garlic clove on an empty stomach with a glass of water you will feel the benefits soon.

 

  • Turmeric

It’s a medicinal spice used since antiquity in the Eastern cuisine and little by little it has been introduced in western countries. Its high content in fiber helps improve blood circulation as well as contributing to reduce the levels of cholesterol in blood.

 

 

Remember that, in addition to include these foods in your diet to improve blood circulation, you have to reduce the consumption of salt, drink water to eliminate toxins and to facilitate blood purification, and practice some daily exercise.
