Flu: Can we fight off it?

 

Flu is a very contagious disease that generates an infection in the respiratory system of human beings.

It is a very contagious virus, since it is possible to transmit it from one person to another one through the saliva. If someone is sick with flu, he/she can infect others when speaking or sneezing.

Time of treatment is between 7 and 10 days.

 

Differences between flu and a common cold:

If you are sick with flu you will normally have fever over 38 degrees for approximately 4 days, headaches, very strong muscular pains, strong cough, but you will not tend to have nasal secretions.

However, if you have a commond cold, you should not have fever, or if you have it, it will be slightly high, occasionally you will suffer headaches, muscular pains and cough. The nasal secretions will be abundant as well as the sore throat.

 

Can we avoid flu?

Yes, we can… Things that you can do:

  • Try to avoid sudden changes of temperature.
  • Breath only by the nose when you are out to the street.
  • Do not go to conglomerations in closed places or with bad ventilation.
  • Do not have contact with contagious people.

How to fight flu?

 

Some piece of advice to carry on flu better:

  • Rest.
  • Drink a lot of liquid.
  • Avoid consumption of alcohol and tobacco.
  • Control the fever.

Follow these tips or consult your doctor if you have any inquires regarding flu and get ready to fight off it!

The most important thing is to take care yourself very much and to be well-prepared.
