Fitness as an Anti-stress Technique
Our Director of the Wellness Area, shares some relaxation techniques related to fitness.
Over time health professionals established that physical exercise helps relieve stress, reduce depressive symptoms and increase self-esteem.
The first thing to consider is that you like the physical activity you choose, since it will become part of your daily routine.
By exercising, the body releases endorphins that act as a natural tranquilizer for the nervous system. Therefore, it is important to know that if you have been sedentary or do little physical activity, you should speak to a professional about begining or resuming exercise, so that he or she can recommend activities based on your current health.
The second thing is to select healthy exercise routines that do not cause oxidation.
It’s always good to determine how much time you spend each week exercising, as well as your schedule, frequency, and duration. Once determined, it is essential to follow it to the letter. Having the willpower and discipline to follow through with a fitness plan, whatever it is, will make you feel satisfied, as you will maintain a very positive stability in your routine.
Some of the fitness disciplines that have a greater focus on relaxation are:
- Jogging (will allow you to have a moment of meditation and introspection while you move)
- Nordic walking or hiking
