With the arrival of autumn, it’s important to adapt ones diet and skincare routine to the change of season. The change of temperature has an impact on our skin, often times causing it to become dry and flaky. Therefore, in order to avoid the typical skin issues that appear at this time of year, make sure to take extra care of your skin through a healthy nutrition and skincare routine that will leave your skin glowing from the inside out.

These tips will keep your skin radiant and hydrated throughout autumn:

Drink water

Drinking water is key for hydrated and radiant skin. Not only will it draw out toxins from the body, but it will also keep your skin cells hydrated, preventing the skin from becoming dry.

Exfoliate

It’s important to exfoliate the skin regularly to get rid of dead skin cells. Our skin is constantly regenerating itself, therefore, exfoliating the skin removes the dead skin cells and allows for the new skin to be clear and radiant. Exfoliate your skin once a week to notice the difference. Try this DIY natural scrub.

Regenerative oil

Having a night time skincare routine before going to sleep is an important step to allow the skin to regenerate during the night. After cleansing your face, apply any regenerative oil of your choice on your skin. You don’t have to buy expensive products or ones which are full of chemical ingredients. The best oils are ones which are natural, like rosehip, argan, jojoba, coconut, avocado, and St. John’s wart oil. They’re full of regenerative, anti-aging properties.

Face mask

Just like exfoliating the skin is important for glowing skin, so is applying a face mask regularly. Try one of these easy natural face masks that you can make in the comfort of your own home.

Nutrition

Healthy nutrition is also vital for healthy glowing skin. Aside from hydrating the skin on the outside, you also need to nourish it from the inside. Healthy fats are essential for the skin. It’s also important to eat a diet rich in vitamins A, C and E as well as minerals and antioxidants. You can find these in nuts, seeds, avocados, fruits and vegetables.

Aloe vera gel

It’s a well known fact that aloe vera has many medicinal uses. It’s very good for the skin because of its regenerative and hydrating properties. Apply the aloe vera gel in the morning after washing your face and before applying your hydrating cream of make-up. In fact, applying the aloe vera gel prior to your make-up, makes the make-up set better and last longer.
