Playa Mujeres. Quintana Roo
North of the Riviera Maya, in front of Isla Mujeres, we have found, just 30 minutes from the Cancun airport, a virgin paradise, a gem of 7 hectares of native nature, where SHA will integrate with the generous flora and fauna of the area. SHA Mexico will have about half a kilometer of white sand beach and crystal clear water, as well as a cenote, a natural wonder typical of the region. In front of its beach is the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere, a marine ecosystem of protected species.
Heart of Mayan Culture
The Mayas had declared Isla Mujeres a sacred place to worship the goddess Ixchel (goddess of fertility). Some of the most important archaeological vestiges of this ancestral culture are located in its surroundings.
A paradise on earth
Enter an indescribable natural treasure, a refuge from it all. Just offshore is the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere, the marine ecosystem with more protected species than anywhere else in the world. Different species of turtles arrive every year to spawn in the warm sand of their beaches and numerous colonies of birds such as pelicans, herons and frigates arrive in the mornings with the first rays of the sun.
SHA Mexico will rise in different heights surrounded by surrounding gardens that will integrate you into the environment. An organic and contemporary design aesthetic will permeate the wellness center, with spaces that flow seamlessly from the interior to the exterior. True to our principles of sustainability, we will minimize environmental impact by opting for mostly natural materials and the use of renewable energy. Marble, Mexican ceramics, wicker or autochthonous fabrics are some of the organic, natural and local materials that we will use in the construction and decoration of this avant-garde wellness centre. The finishes of luxury qualities will follow the latest aesthetic trends respecting the environment.
The renowned Mexican architectural firm, Sordo Madaleno and the prestigious interior architect Alejandro Escudero will be the architects of SHA Mexico’s design. Landscaping, a fundamental aspect of the project, will be carried out by Maat Handasa, who will design the exteriors respecting the protagonism of the local species. SHA Mexico will become the main reference point for the health and wellness sector in the American continent due to its size, exclusivity and innovation and the offer of clinical services and wellness.
